Excerpts From An Imaginary Speech Delivered By Imiano in PWAN GROUP

The first time that I decided to locate the PWAN OFFICE in Enugu state, I followed another way and got lost.

Today, I have found PWAN GROUP and PWAN GROUP has found me! So, it is a win-win situation. That is how life is. You can always win if you know the people that you are with. Every penny that you invest in PWAN group by subscribing to own properties, lands or homes is like a seed that you sow today in order to reap tomorrow.

Life is a forward integrated movement but those who choose to be backward in life would always while away their time instead of agreeing to key into what is on ground.

What is on ground right now is that you can make much  impacts by investing in a system that has proven to be working over the years. Do not give your money to fraudsters but invest your money in pwan homes ltd and forget about worrying.

Years ago, I was in my mother’s womb without knowing what it was that was going on in the whole world (spreads arms) and except for her belly, I had no other roof nor walls around and above me. It’s funny now because I didn’t have to pay a penny for all those services that I received while in my mother’s womb but now, to own a house in Nigeria, you need to have some cash and  pwan  has made it easy for us.

Ladies and gentlemen, if God who created us knows that we needed  warmth in order to survive while in the womb, then I make bold to say that He also cares about our state of affairs here on Earth. Do not economize when it comes to getting what you want!

Let pwan give you the best of designs, discounts and free plots of land in goodly locations. Today, you have the opportunity of being a land owner in Nigeria, do not miss it.

I am grateful to God for the gift of life and I am impressed that you all are here.

Keep being realistic.

IN THE DAYS OF IMIANO (FACTORIANS ARISE)

There were days we didn’t sleep.

We sat under a leaking roof

Waiting for the rain to come so

That we could stop it from

Soaking our beds.

There were days we didn’t sleep.

We worked all night at Chinmark

Waiting for day to break so that

We could get our money from Foreman.

There were days we didn’t sleep.

We stayed awake all nights reading

Books in order to pass our exams.

And today, we have a roof above our heads. Thanks be to God.

In the days of Imiano

Factorians Arise and make a difference.

For they who passed the baton down to us

Neither slept nor gave up!

All Man Arise!!!

START A REBELLION

A rebel is someone who is discomforted about a particular situation in a group. I tell you, being a rebel is good if you are fighting against poverty. Just start from somewhere because you can’t be poor forever!

Go out of your way to make success happen! Just stop talking and act and that, fast. If you are comfortable being in rags, then there is a problem somewhere. If you are comfortable being at the lowest ebb of life; then there is no need to try and if you are comfortable being downtrodden, then, the same thing applies.

No one will give you success. You yourself will have to take it or else you will remain poor forever. Rebel against poverty! Leave your comfort zone and do something amazing, that is how to succeed.

You are awesome. Don’t let people talk down on you and if they say something bad about you, dust it off and move on. Always remember that time shall tell and that time waits for nobody. So, move!

WHAT YOU SHOULD DO ON A TUESDAY MORNING.

You might be wondering what a Tuesday morning should be like. Well, different people have different schedules.

Here are some of the things that you should do on a Tuesday morning:

1.       Go out

I presume that by the time you step out of your bed, it should be somewhere close to 7:38AM on a Tuesday morning. So, choosing what to do shouldn’t be a difficult task. You know, some people think that once they go out, something bad would happen. So, they prefer staying back to avoid mishaps but there are some people who think that once they go out, they would make a difference. Be like that: every day is an opportunity to give life a befitting touch.

2.       Drink water

Hunger is not a problem. I know that there are some people who can stay without food but drinking of water is a compulsory task. So, drink some more. I heard that that thing is good for health when you take one cup of it in the morning especially when you must have brushed your teeth.

3.       Talk to people

When you go out, talk to people. Do not be isolated. There is every possibility that a word you say today can help you tomorrow. Talk about your business. Talk about your beliefs and talk about your lifestyle (if you wish to) but do not be depressed.

I leave you to yourself. A stitch in time, saves nine.

Let Bygone Be Bygone

This is a phrase that people usually make use of when they are trying to forget the past.in Igbo language, we say, “Rapu ihe beru n’anyasi ka O bulu anwunta.” And you can as well say, “Let the sleeping dog lie.”

They do not all mean the same thing but they can be used to express one hope and that is the fact that you can move on.

1.       If you had always wanted to be a doctor when you were small and you find yourself being a Carpenter now; let bygone be bygone.

2.       If you had always wanted to be a husband to the most beautiful woman in Africa but you find yourself with the person that you are with now; let bygone be bygone.

3.       If you had always wanted to be a billionaire at the age of 16 and at the age of 36, you still find yourself struggling, let bygone be bygone.

Moving on in life is an opportunity to re-strategize and conquer that which you were not able to conquer before. It is not an expression of fear. No. it is an act of recoiling in order to pull the trigger and get far.

After all, it is said that he who runs today, lives to fight another day and our people say, “Nkwucha abughi ujo (carefulness is not fear.)” You might not understand all these now but in time to come, you will.

Soar high and forget the past if it is not pleasant.

WHAT TO EXPECT.

When you have worked and you are waiting for your wages to come, you are expected to be happy. When you have invested and you are waiting for your money to mature, you are expected to be hopeful and when you are inspired and you are waiting for the results to show, you are expected to grin.

Life is like a pregnant woman. Everybody expects her to put to bed after nine months and anything other than that is seen as a delay. You can’t expect a woman who is due for delivery and the baby is not forthcoming (after several pushes) to exercise patience with you. No, that is not patience. That is madness. There is time for everything. So, if it is time for her to give birth to a child, let it be done.

A lot of people are in a hurry yet it is not their faults. A lot of people want success to come faster than you think and you cannot blame them and there is this set of people that even want to become faster than their shadows (if it was possible) and you can’t even stop them because they have invested, they have worked and they have being inspired to sow. What they expect right now is a boom and that is what we have to offer. You can join them if you have the heart!

EGOMBUTE FAILED ME !!

There was this job that I was supposed to deliver but on the last day, I was not available because another job came up and I needed to handle it.  I left Egombute on the first job and went for the second job together with another person hoping that he (Egombute) would finish the job and collect our remaining balance (which he did) but he kept the proceeds away from me  and even told me lies.

Let me be specific, this job was awarded for the sum of N30,000.00 in addition to another N1000 which was attached to the money due to the nature of the job and that makes it N31,000.00 and the crooked foreman did not want to pay handsomely.

Now, let me tell you what happened. It was a filling job. Normally, when a foundation is dug, they need to fill the foundation with sand so that workers could get a place with which to cast the German floor but the thing there is that filling entails three things and these are:

1. Back filling

2. Filling and

3. Re-filling

Back filling starts when you pack sands and cover the space between the foundation block and the outside of the building:

Position for image of back filling.

Filing starts when you actually pack sands and fill the inside of the foundation to the level that they want:

Position for image of filling.

That day, I went to work at Chinmark group because it was a construction company that helps people to set up buildings of various magnifications, designs and tastes. So, I expected him to finish the job and get our money.

Mind you, we have worked for three days already and it was remaining just one day and we had done both the back filling and the filling of the foundation. So, it was remaining just the re-filling which could not be more than a day’s job which two people could do and I was expecting him to find somebody, attach the person to himself, finish the work and get our remaining money which was what he did but he refused to disclose the exact amount of money that he paid the guy to me and even claimed that I was supposed to pay back N3000 to the company since that I did not complete the job.

He told me that the people who finished the job charged N17,000.00 for the re-filling. Meanwhile, we did both the filling and the back-filling within 3 days and this is just a day’s work. If you charge N17,000 for the re-filling of the foundation, it means that the actual filling of the foundation was done for 13,000 because the back-filling money was just N1000 and the foreman was supposed to pay for the re-filling but he didn’t instead, he only paid for back-filling and filling and expected us to do the re-filling for the same amount (which was not our job) but the craziest mistake I made was inviting Egombute into the job.

Normally, I should have looked for another person but he was the only capable hand available at that time and I promised to pay him 12,000 out of the money if we finish well and 5,000 if he runs away from the job because I was not interested in the re-filling and back-filling jobs.

My own was to do the filling and get away because that was where the junk of the money is (imagine 30,000.00) and that was what we did. As at the time that I left the site on the third day, the filling job was over. So, I was expecting the man to pay us completely but he didn’t rather he was insisting that we do the re-filling job before he could pay us our balance of N14,000.00 being that we had collected N17,000.00 during the course of our work which we shared as follows:

Day 1 (6,000) = Egombute (2000) + Imiano (4,000).

Day 2 (4,000) = Egombute (1,600) + Imiano (2,400).

Day 3 (7000) = Egombute (3000) + Imiano (4000).

In all, Egombute collected N6,600.00 only before the final day of the job while I collected N10,400.00 (as a sharp guy) out of the total sum of N17,000 they paid us which includes the money for filling and back-filling (which means that they did not pay for re-filling and the foreman mandated us to do it before our money could be released to show how crooked that he was).

So, that is the story (my brother and my sister). On the fourth day, Egombute concluded the job in my absence and took the remaining money.

And I was asking him, how can N14,000.00 be spent on re-filling alone (just in one day)? Meanwhile, the actual filling and back-filling took three days to be completed and the only paid us N17,000 yet he was claiming that I was supposed to bring out N3000 and add to the sum of N14,000.00 to make it 17,000 which according to him was what the people who did the re-filling in one day charged but when I met the Cashier in the site, he told me to forget about the money. I never met the foreman because he was crooked.

He purposely seized the money till that last day so that he could force me to do the re-filling job that he did not pay for but I don’t blame him (some days are like that) but to be candid, they helped us because the owner of the project who seems to be the Engineer also brought a tractor into the compound and while it was working, it usually puts sands into the foundation for us which means that we only needed to spread and level the said sands within the foundation (so, you can imagine) but Egombute should have told me the truth.

It was during this same period that I met Cubana, the guy who took me to another site to find work because he saw the way that I worked but the thing did not go down well. So, I left.

Here is the crux of the matter: Egombute collected the remaining money and didn’t give me anything. I went for another work and made more money and I hope to work again but a crooked foreman.

I did not give a space for the image of re-filling because it is just the act of act of putting more sands into the building when they pour water on the filling sand which usually sinks and it is not the job of the man who did the filling except if that was included in the price. In fact, even the back-filling is optional.

I WILL REMEMBER YOU!

When the pen

Dances furiously upon the pages of life

I will remember

You

When the clouds gather

And the dews drop

I will remember

You

When hope comes

And all these problems

We see them

No more

I will remember

You

I tried to forget

You

But I couldn’t

I pretended that

I have moved on

Yet I stand still

Now, I want to

Say it clearly:

I love you

8 PROMISES I NEVER MADE

At times, it seems as though we are bound by our words. Life is simple but too much promises that are left unfulfilled makes it seem hard. Today, I recall some of the promises that I never made. It is for the good of everyone to say only what one can do even while under pressure.

1. To die.

I did not promise to die for anything. Be it relationship, object or money. A lot of people take their lives simply because a relationship they were into failed. It shouldn’t be.

2. Book

I did not promise to be bookish but a lot of times, I find myself flipping through books. Maybe, it is because of my love for knowledge.

3.  Food

I did not promise to always be the one to cook my foods! Looking back now, I can say that I have spent much money on canned foods than on cooking my own foods. You know,  it is said that as one makes one’s bed, so shall one lie. Maybe, I am not supposed to make my own bed in terms of cooking because I might not be comfortable on it.

4. Sugar.

Of a truth, I never promised to fill my stomach with sugary substances but right now, it seems to be so!

5. Documents.

Some documents contain serious information whose contents I am not supposed to spill because they are confidential but due to the nature of my job, I am exposed to them. It’s not my fault, I did not promise to keep a secret forever.

6. Travelling.

I cannot really say if I am a traveler or not but I don’t stay one place for long yet I never promised to walk round the world.

7. Away

I never promised to walk away but people’s attitudes usually push me into doing so. I rather walk away than to stay and cause troubles! I can walk away from troubles, I can walk away from poverty and I can walk away from barrenness by just avoiding same.

8. imiano.

My name is imiano. I find it difficult to believe that some people think that I have changed. No, I haven’t. I am still the imiano and I did not promise to change that name.
